This year I’m surrounded by the ‘mutterings of friends, family and acquaintances’, who are just putting up with their lot work and career wise, as they only have 10 years or so until retirement.
My husband is quite a few years older than me, so many of his friends and colleagues are starting to gear up to retirement (which is the last thing on my mind). It is a standard joke in our household that hubby will be doing the caravan trip across Australia, while I’m still expanding my business to help serve more people.

Is the tiny detail in résumé important?
Over the last several years, there has been a prevailing trend towards shorter government applications. While full responses to selection criteria are still utilised, more Government agencies are turning to a cover letter, comprising of 1 or 2 pages.
Trying to find the ideal job, even when employed, can be one of the most difficult realities to deal with. Initially the prospect of finding a new job is not that daunting, but if you don’t quickly secure a new job, it can take a toll on your self- esteem (not to mention the financial pressure if you don’t have a job). Yet a positive outlook is crucial, as an employer will not want to hire someone that comes across as desperate, or depressed. So how to you remain positive?
Not so long ago, all you needed was to scratch together a solid resume and a cover letter and apply through your network, or send a hard copy of your resume to the employer that advertised in the newspaper.
