By using the service, you are choosing a highly customised and personal career writing service. Carolynsmith.com.au prides itself on its service and quality and we will work our hardest to ensure that you are happy with our service and products.
While we are committed to your total satisfaction, our services are subject to terms and conditions that act as a framework to all our services and products provided.
Please take the time to read these carefully before using our services as we adhere strictly to this framework. Feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. We are here to help you.
SUMMARY / OVERVIEW

- If there is a strict submission deadline, we ask that you get worksheets back to us within the specified timeframe provided to you, so we can meet your deadline.
- We don’t research or confirm the accuracy of information provided by you, so make sure the information you provide us with is accurate.
- While we proofread all documentation (several times), final proof reading and acceptance of all content is your responsibility, and we are not liable for any errors or omissions that are missed during the proofreading process.
- On receipt of the draft, if you need changes, you need to get this feedback to us within 14 days and you are solely responsible for meeting this deadline. Otherwise, your project will be considered complete.
- We spend a lot of time on the initial draft and up to 2 revisions are included in your project.
- Upon final payment, you can use the documents at your discretion. However, we ask you not to share these documents with 3rd parties for the purpose/intent of plagiarism (e.g., giving your document to your colleague so they can copy the information for their own job application (s)).
- We ask you to supply us with all the requested information and to work collaboratively with us, as this is how we will achieve the best results for you.
- We will work very hard to afford you the best possible support, but we can’t guarantee an interview, or job, as outcomes can be impacted by many external variables that are outside of our control.
- We are providing a highly personalised career writing service, so all fees are non-refundable.
- If you are abusive, disruptive or engage in activity that impedes our ability to provide our services, then at our discretion we can terminate this agreement without a refund.
- We take privacy seriously, which is why we will NEVER share your information with others. We don’t provide samples of our work to anyone, including potential buyers or publications. We also never publish client’s work online.
WORKSHEETS FOR PROJECTS WITH STRICT DEADLINES (e.g., Government Applications)
The client agrees that if they are having a resume, cover letter, government application or other career related document prepared by us, that has a strict submission deadline, that they will complete their worksheets within the specified time provided by CarolynSmith.com.au. The reason we do this, is so that we can meet client deadlines and maintain our workload and personalised service. If the worksheet is not returned within the specified time, or other arrangements have not been made in writing, CarolynSmith.com.au is not liable for failing to complete the client’s application on time.
CONTENT
Carolynsmith.com.au is a professional writing company committed to the production of quality career marketing materials. Carolynsmith.com.au takes no responsibility for the information contained within any resume, selection criteria, letter or other document produced on behalf of our clients. The client is solely responsible for all content, proofing and acceptance. Carolynsmith.com.au cannot be held liable for information obtained from a client that is inaccurate or incorrect as Carolynsmith.com.au does not research or confirm accuracy of the information provided by the client. Carolynsmith.com.au liability is limited to completion of work and assumes no liability for work that has been proofread and final proof approved.
REVIEW AND REVISION
Final proofreading is the sole responsibility of the client and if corrections and changes are needed, clients are to raise them as soon as possible or within 14 days of receiving the draft. Satisfaction is assumed upon acceptance of documents. Carolynsmith.com.au is not responsible for errors or omissions that are missed during the client proofreading process, or liable or responsible for incorporating any changes requested by the client after the expiration of the 14-day window.
Since so much work goes into the initial draft, generally 1 to 2 rounds of edits are considered standard. Anything in excess of this (3 or more revisions) will be considered excessive and require additional fees to complete, charged an hourly rate of $140.
A client’s decision to address a new employment target, or insert new information not discussed in initial purchase agreement will result in additional fees. After client’s acceptance of the final draft, the project will be deemed complete, and any changes requested will incur a new fee.
TECHNOLOGY
Carolynsmith.com.au is a professional resume writing and career development firm, not a computing expert or instructor. Due to the varying nature of computer word processing software and the page alterations that can take place from computer to computer, based on printer and computer recognition, we cannot guarantee that your documents will appear perfectly on every computer screen. While we take every step to ensure your satisfaction, some issues are beyond our control and require you to adjust on your end.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY & PAYMENT
All materials produced by Carolynsmith.com.au are copyrighted. Intellectual Copyright Law provides that the creator may enter into a licensing agreement that allows the work to be copied. Upon payment in full, the client is authorised to reproduce documents within the limits of copyright law, except for plagiarism. Plagiarism is defined by providing career documents to other persons/entities for their use (whole or part).
Partial payment stop payment or any similar action by the client, or any refund provided revokes the agreement to copy said documents, whereupon reproduction or use of the documents in any form is unlawful and subject to prosecution.
A non-refundable deposit of at least 50% will be necessary to begin preparation of documents. Unless the full balance is paid, documents remain the property of Carolynsmith.com.au and will not be forwarded in any form. Failure to pay balance, waives all client rights to the documents and will result in prosecution under the law to collect the debt.
CLIENT RESPONSIBILITY & SUCCESS
It is the responsibility of the client, and in the client’s best interests, to supply carolynsmith.com.au with all requested information and to work collaboratively to complete the project. Carolynsmith.com.au relies on active client participation to achieve the best possible outcome.
While Carolynsmith.com.au works actively with our clients to afford them the best possible support and most clients do achieve success, Carolynsmith.com.au does not guarantee interviews nor do we indicate or infer employment success as a result of using our services.
Outcomes can be impacted by many external variables that are outside of our control. These include but are not limited to changing market conditions, job posting changes, competition (people applying for a job that have better qualifications and experience than you), unconscious or conscious biases of recruiters, panel members and employers (e.g., age discrimination), applying for jobs outside the scope of the resume, how you present yourself at interview, failure to try different job search tactics, social media alarms, or referees giving you a poor review. Which is why we simply cannot guarantee that you will get a job or an interview using our service.
REFUNDS
By utilising Carolynsmith.com.au fees are for the highly personalised services provided and are subsequently non-refundable. As per the ACCC website, (consumer rights to service cancellation), you can’t cancel a service, or get a refund if the problem was outside the control of carolysmith.com.au, (e.g., your circumstances change, or you changed your mind).
Carolynsmith.com.au advises that quotes and prices are good for 60 days from the time of order placement. Current prices apply if an order is ‘shelved’ and resumed after 60 days.
TERMINATION
CarolynSmith.com.au has sole and absolute discretion to terminate agreement to provide any marketing collateral (including but not limited to): resumes, executive biography, LinkedIn profiles, cover letters, selection criteria, statements of claims, EOI) and remove the client from continuing in any career coaching or activities at any time, without a refund, if the client ceases to follow carolynsmith.com.au guidelines, if the client becomes disruptive or abusive, if the client refuses to provide adequate information to carolynsmith.com.au, or if the client impairs the participation of other clients in any coaching program they may be participating in.
